Can someone explain what CAC and the other similar abbreviations mean. I see on my dogs pedigree and it has a number infront of it like 7xCAC or 12xCACIB.

Thanks.

Re: CAC, CACIB Show in Maastricht - the Netherlands

Good afternoon,

Let me try to explain about these titles.

CAC and CACIB are beauty titles for confirmation shows. CAC = a National Show CACIB = an International show.
CAC = Certificat d'Apitude au Championat = champion title = winning male or winning bitch
CACIB= Certificat d'Apitude au Championnat International de Beauté = Certificate of the FCI is only available on International shows for the winning male and winning bitch.
Dogs must have got a V rating and placed first to be able to be chosen as winners bitch or winners male.
for our breed who is a working breed you need for the title of International champion athe following.
one CACIB in your own country, an IPO certificate or VPG certificate and in an other foreign country, which must also be a member of the FCI after one year and 1 day after winning the first CACIB title another title of this in that other country. than you can make the application for the title International Champion.
if you have no working breed thatn you need at least 4 of these titles in different in 3 different countries and under at least 3 different judges. (avoiding the chance that you win the titles by following a friend...... as he/she is judging at these shows).

CACIT = Certificat d'Apitude au Championnat International de Travaille, International working champion.

hope you all can work out my poor English.

sincerely,

Thank you all for the nice commend. I am always trying to improve my knowledge of the foreign languages I speak and read. But I have to admit that I am better in English and German than my French.
But still as I said willing to learn. But even my own language, Dutch, confuses me when people start to talk in their own dialect....than I do need sometimes a dictionary or somebody who does translate for me.....

sincerely,
