| Re: Spanish dog laws I would definately check the exact area of Spain which you are planning to move. They may have breed bans like we do, not every where in the country just some places. |

| Re: Spanish dog laws The Canary Islands are spanish islands so the rules are the same i would think. My local vet told me that after 6 months of age i needed to register the dog with my local town hall(relevent department). Also the dog must have rabies jabs at 6months. Also the dog must be on a lead at all times and kept on a muzzle. This last muzzle rule on my island (Lanzarote) is not kept to by anyone and police turn a blind eye. No dogs on beaches is a bummer and gets a 50(approx) euro fine but finding early hour quite deserted beaches is a piece of cake for me . Finally (just remembered this one)dangerous dog owners themselves have to undergo a psycology test to see if they are mentally stable to own such a dog.( i am told this is easy to pass) I would check the local vet 1st where ever you will be living, as most towns might have slighty different local rules. Hope this helps ;) |

| Re: Spanish dog laws The test i am not sure about,my pup is only 3 months old I would suspect spanish wouldnt you? If i cant take a translator then a translation book will have to do me thinks. I know a nice local english lady who works for a local dog home who has taken the test (she is fluent in spanish though ) and she has a presa dog. When the time comes nearer i will pick here brain as i am thinking the same thing. What ever though good luck in Spain.( u will love it) ![]() Just remembered another thing ...................You will need to get your dogs micro chipped, this is also the law.Chipping your dogs will cost 30 euros at most from the vet and is far cheaper than the Uk i hear and takes seconds to do.
