| National or FCI Rottweiler! Inspired of an other thread and since we have a forum called “International Rottweilers” I would like to hear how things works in different places. This is how it works here: FCI is the top of the pyramid. Next the National Kennel Clubs (who besides many other things is the only organization to make pedigrees.) Then the National Breed Clubs (with breeding, conformations, working, mental test committees etc.) Then the regional groups, the local clubs etc etc. From the bottom to the top of the pyramid we discuss, argue, disagree, shake our heads etc. but all have the same goal and work by the same rules. Here registering is a NUMBER and nothing more than that, only to track the owner of a dog if necessary. A pedigree is used to track proven ancestors (in health, conformation, temperament and working) generations back. And just because a dog has one of those pedigrees doesn’t give its offspring a pedigree for birth gift. Both breeding animals must prove before breeding, that their offspring is worthy a pedigree. Well... just a very short description of how it works here. That said we have another “organisation” colloquially called “Danish dog seller Club”. The members mostly are expelled from the Danish Kennel Club or their dogs can't live up to the required so in my book they fall into the category of bybs who produce Danish Rottweiler (or something like that) It takes more to produce a FCI Rottweiler.
