International Transport

I posted in the Chit Chat forum, received no response so I thought I would post this here. I will be transporting my dog from California to Italy in most probably July. He has done this twice in his 3 years, once at 10 weeks old when he flew to CA from Italy, again to Italy when we vacationed and back again. So, he has actually done this 3 times total. The last trip was horrible and I swore I would never do it again. Well, I am eating my words because we are probably moving back to Italy in July and I am encountering the dreadful thought of transporting this dog once again. I need advice from those that have transported internationally, what companies I may try, any advice etc.

I have a few sites that we found off the internet, but I wanted to gain knowledge on this site first. Please advise.
