5 month old female started eating her waste

Not to be discusting here but my males have never done this, last night when I had them out the female went after the male's waste. I stopped her as soon as I could it was the first time she ever tried, she is healthy, eats normally, I can understand going after grass but why would she eat waste material. Thanks in advance.

It must taste good the second time around because Sheena did the same exact thing when she was about that age and continued for a while - she thank goodness stopped eating (dog)poop on her own. (Sheena is 5 yrs. old now - and I just caught her digging up cat poop and eating it last week!!!) Don't know why, but a lot of dogs seem to do this. Our Vet said put vinegar in her food - but I don't like vinegar so I did not put it on Sheena's food!

Good luck, maybe she will outgrow this soooooon!!!! :D
