| Puppies eye color Hi, I just got another pic of the puppy I'll be getting (whenever the airlines start accepting cargo again) and her eyes are REALLY blue. She's two days shy of 8 weeks old so I figured she'd have brown eyes by now. I'm not worried about it at all I was just wondering if it was normal and if they'd still turn brown. They are so pretty I kinda don't want them to, although I do want her to be as close to the standard as possible. I'll post a pic in off topic/chit chat for everyone who wants to see her. |

| If the eyes are blue at 8 weeks then the pup will most likely have light brown or yellow eyes as an adult.

| I just looked at the picture that you posted in the chit chat section. Are you sure her eyes are blue? Did the people you are getting her from tell you that they are blue? I am just asking because they look pretty brown to me - its just the flash on the camera makes them look blue. I think this may be the case. In any event she is a pretty girl :)

| I seen your pic and your puppy is absolutely beautiful. I could send one of my pictures of my 6 month old but still don't have the hang of it yet. Anyway my point being is that I have a couple of pictures of Czer and his eyes are blue. So just like others have said I believe its just the flash of the camera. Czer's eyes have been brown since we saw him with his mother at 4 weeks. All the best with your new addition.:) |

| A dog I bred had very, very blue eyes as a puppy and gold-brown eyes as a young adult. By the time he was mature, his eyes were dark brown. I've also had dogs that had brown eyes as puppies that had medium to light-brown eyes as adults. There is no hard and fast rule. Two very dark-eyed adults can produce puppies with light eyes and the reverse. Nancy
