| Ok, I know I will probably get more giggles than advice on this one, but what the heck! Anyone know how to keep the slobber prints to a minimum on my patio glass doors and car windows? I was blissfully oblivious to the mess until I offered my mother in law a ride and I saw the shock/disgusted look in her face when she looked at the back windows of my van. To my defense, the kids find it entertaining and have been encouraging Bear to lick away, and looking at him doing it to my patio doors while I'm inside was a bit funny .I want to clean without harming him (don't know about Windex, so I just use water and vinegar and it's just not cutting it.) At the same time, I would like to use a product that might deter him from doing it. Oh and by the way, there was a spray that I found at the pet store that claims to deter the pup from chewing if you spray the objects you want left untouched. I took it back after a day. Bear found it yummy and chewed more on the stuff that was sprayed with it.

| Re: Cleaning slobber? Ha! I've learned to just live with it and to heck with anyone who's disgusted. I just can't devote my entire life to slobber-swiping! Using Windex the usual way doesn't even TOUCH the slobber marks around here. I have to pour Windex in warm water and then use a SCRUB BRUSH. That stuff is like gel! *shudder* |

| Re: Cleaning slobber? I once saw a bumper sticker that said "its not slobber, its my rotties nose art" ...maybe you should buy it instead of the cleaner!found the link No, My Windows Aren't Dirty... Sticker (Bumper) - CafePress

| Re: Cleaning slobber? I just ordered that bumper sticker. We have a van as well and both side windows are COVERED in Rottie Nose Art! I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

| Re: Cleaning slobber? We own an English Mastiff ... You have not SEEN slobber until you've been in our house LOL. It gets on the walls, the ceiling, windows and our van? Forget about it! Major slingers. That stuff I should be able to bottle and sell for some kind of airplane glue. Only thing I've found that truly works is a scruby and hot soapy water followed up by windex or water/vinegar for windows. Hope this helps.

| Re: Cleaning slobber? Dog slobber used to gross me out big time. Now I've just gotten used to it. My car windows, and some of the windows in the house. When we're in obedience or agility class, my dog seems to think God created pant for humans as doggy napkins. My pants are drenched in doggy slobber. Everyone in class just looks at me. I can just imagine what their thinking, but at least my girl is the hardest working dog in class. LOL |

| Re: Cleaning slobber? Sigh. Slobber. This is going to sound strange - but I find myself missing the nose prints everwhere and slobber marks near the water bowl, now that Sofia is gone. For non-glass slobber issues, I actually had really good luck using a cleaner called Bac-Out. It's an enzyme based, environmentally friendly cleaner that I use for just about anything. I like it better than Nature's Miracle for removing pet stains - one of my current dogs has IBD and will occasionally have an accident. I'll even use it on the glass, then go back with Windex to make it shine again.

| Re: Cleaning slobber? For windows, vinegar and then wipe with newspapers. it really cuts the stuff. Our back windows on the car are always slobbery. My dog actually foams at the mouth when he knows I have treats. A few people in class commented on it last week. I love him dearly, but sometimes when I am on walks and using treats I wonder if people don't think I have a rabid rottweiler in tow. I also carry paper towels to wipe his mouth off. |

| Re: Cleaning slobber? I use white vinegar and a microfiber cloth to wash, then dry and polish with a clean microfiber cloth. If is is really sunbaked, you may have to use a bit more elbow grease. If it is not real thick, just a wet with water microfiber cloth will take it off.

| Re: Cleaning slobber? Yes I second the newspapers...it's almost creepy how well they work...I too will use vinegar & water for floors and straight vinegar for windows. We only have one window with nose/slobber prints fomr the dog & cats and the car windows stay clean because bear is kennelled in the car.

| Re: Cleaning slobber? Thanks everyone! I didn't think it was a big deal before with the little fluffy one. Most of his nose prints remained below knee level, so it was no big deal. But Bear is able to get half the patio door in one lick! And when he's really naughty (technically when we are naughty and leave him for too long alone outside) he'd have muddy nose prints to add, since he'd have dug a nice hole in the yard and then come to the patio door to show us his accomplishment. ![]() I'd forgotten about newspapers; will get right on that one. Thanks again.
