Re: Trying to find cool collar for my rottie

Nishasmom....leathers collars can get wet if protected with a good heavy duty water repellent. I use one called dubbin. I got it here:

Leather Dyes, Neatsfoot Oil, Leather Polishes, Dubbin, Cleaners

it is inexpensive....whe wesite is canadian, but they ship to the US. However, a quick google search turned up results for various shoe/shoe repair stores if you want to start looking in your area.

Re: Trying to find cool collar for my rottie

I have to say, I haven't gotten to the last page of this thread and i'm disgusted with the fighting. It is no longer a discussion! I personally think this thread should be closed since the original topic of where to find a spiked/studded collar could be found was answered. And since its been answered, now people are fighting about opinions and bashing each other. The learning point of what the collars were originally used for was made. Now its constant bashing of oppinions, and it's getting no-where. It's only going in a circle and it's pointless. How it's gotten to 5 pages or more is beyond my comprehension. After the first 2 or 3 pages, I'm sure no one else has posted a link or info on WHERE TO FIND THESE TYPES OF COLLARS for the OP.

Re: Trying to find cool collar for my rottie

Cool collars....If you don't mind spending a little bit of money(well worth it, as I will explain in a moment), google Kenyan Collars(You can find some here: The Kenyan Collection - Beaded Leather Collars, Leashes, Browbands & Belts) These collars are very, very durable....I have had Largo in one for 18 months now, and it has gotten wet, etc....it is missing a couple of beads(dog chewing on it, not poor workmanship)...

I plan to soon, have all my dogs in one of these collars and have matching leads and a matching belt----obedience and rally competition.
