APRI registry?

I don't know the first thing about this "registry", but is it as bogus as the CKC... or is it legit?

Someone posted something about it on Yahoo! Answers, and curiosity got the best of me.

Re: APRI registry?

that's the registry the bulk of the puppy brokers switched their "breeders" too after AKC started the DNA program
NO reputable breeder uses it at all, it's primarily used by breeders who sell to brokers

Re: APRI registry?

I haven't visited their site in years, but their mission statement use to be to promote and protect commercial breeders.

If it's Continental Kennel Club (CKC), this is a bogus registery...used by puppy mills and dogs that have been sold on a non- breeding AKC contracts. The owner cannot get AKC papers so gets ConKC or APRI registration...and ignorant people think that their dog is registered by a legit registry.

If it's CKC (Canadian Kennel Club)....that is Canada's legit registry.

Re: APRI registry?

There's so much confusion on the acronym CKC because it's used for two different registries. I think someone needs to change them to make the distinction to something like:

CaKC (thumbs up) - Canadian Kennel Club
CoKC (thumbs down) - Continental Kennel Club

Re: APRI registry?

Ah! Thanks for the explanation. I think I am confusing CKC with UKC... UKC is the legit German registry, I think.
