Re: To get a shelter puppy or not?

Congratulations Katrinasmom!

I wish I knew where these pups were located as I'd love to have a male as a companion to my Tessa. One more dog has a wonderful new caring family.

I wish you much luck with your new pup.

ENJOY your new bundle of fur!

Re: To get a shelter puppy or not?

Congratulations!!!!! How exciting, and your little boy sounds like such a cutie. I know my rescue works with at least one shelter in Erie, PA...tell them to notify BrightStar if they want to get the rest into rescue...and since I'm the rotti foster for them, who knows, I might get some puppy loving in too. Take care and give your new baby a kiss for me...what's his name?

Re: To get a shelter puppy or not?

Congratulations to you! I know you had such a hard loss, but isn't it amazing how those little bundles of fur don't take the place of our lost loved ones, but they sure fill a void. Enjoy your new little guy and all the challenges he WILL bring you!!! Keep us updated and yes, What's his name?

Re: To get a shelter puppy or not?

Thanks so much for all the well-wishes I am totally in love with him after only a few short days Although I will admit that physically I feel like I did when my children were newborns..lol...I am completely exhausted, but in a good way.

We've tossed around a few names, but I think we may go with Henry. Whenever we say it out loud it makes people giggle, and I think that's what I'd like to go with....something that makes people smile We've signed up for the Puppy-K class, which is set to begin a few days after he turns 10 weeks, so I am looking forward to that. We've had him out and about with us the last few days trying to get some socialization, but it's kind of hard to find places that are okay to take him until he gets his next set of shots

All in all things are going very well and we couldn't be happier with our decision to take him. I will try to post pictures as soon as I can get him to stand still long enough to actually take one

Re: To get a shelter puppy or not?

How sweet! I think the name Henry will bring a smile to peoples faces, too. He sounds like an alert intellegent little boy, following the "nice man home" in his own way...

Best wishes with him. Wow. Now, check the lineage on those AKC papers. Will you be thinking of a l-o-n-g-e-r AKC name for him? Perhaps? Let us know! This is so fun!

Congratulations, see I told you that the right decision would be made.....only HENRY was the one that made it, he picked YOU as his family!!

I would love to see some pictures of him, he sounds like a sweet little man.
