Re: What is the age of the Oldest Living Rottweiler??

Ive had 3 rotties and 2 made just to 11 - the 3rd is still here. I did have a chow mix who lived to be 17 yrs 1 month and 1 day old and for most of his life = he ate Pedigree. I put him on super premium (canidea) when I got smart when he was about 11 but the last 2 years - I fed him ANYTHING to perk up a picky appetite but the stuff that he ate well most of the time was that semi moist round thingys that Walmart puts out. In trying to get him to eat ANYTHING - I picked up a bag of it in desperation, vet told me if he eats it - give it to him. go figure LOL

That's fantastic!! I hope my Marley is with us for that long. It was a huge deciding factor as I didn't know if my heart would be able to take having him around for such a short period of time....now I couldn't picture life without him. =D

Re: What is the age of the Oldest Living Rottweiler??

We lost our first at 2 1/2, our second at 7 1/2 and our current rescue boy is 8, going on 4. He very seldom shows his age. We laugh, he is the dog we have the most behavior issues with and he will live the longest! On a lighter note, the medium sized dog I had as a kid lived to be 19, losing her was so hard! I'd had her since I was two, and we got her from the shelter as an adult dog.
