or temperamental, OR what ever your name is! I don’t see no more information in your 3 profiles, than in my 1 profile! (except a picture of MY dog) I am a bit confused since we and we who agreed with you to the most and some degree, are those you blame!!! But I CAN LIVE WITH THAT! ![]()

People twisting things and mocking… You tell me is it cool !!!!! I’ll join and learn but I wont kiss no ass… Some of these people look like there standing in line. ???? they can …. NOT MEE !!!! | Re: Is it really a Rottweiler? It seems like people here "understand" that they are intelligent dogs...then why don't you think that your dog would ever be "mean" to a stranger? These dogs SENSE people's attitudes and motives. I find it hard to believe that anyone's Rottweiler has never been weary of or protective from a stranger, ever. My Rottie is a big teddy bear and almost always loves strangers, and only ever attacks with kisses, but you better believe that if he sees someone "shady" he will give a warning growl. Give them more credit. |

| Re: Is it really a Rottweiler? Wow, I just stepped away from the computer for a day and look what's happened. I think poor (Otis, Termpermental, Radioactive) are all in one about to lose it. Better make sure MY profile is private, sounds like a stalker to me. |

| Re: Is it really a Rottweiler? If indeed the breed is watered down - it is because of BYBs and puppy mills which we (the collective responsible rottweiler community) are trying to stop. However, this is America and people have rights and regretably these people by exercising their rights to breed inferior dogs may infringe on my right to own my breed of choice. My Cromwell always took his clue from me. He would reflect how I received a stranger. If I was apprehensive, he would be alert and watchful - if I was open and welcoming - he would relax. Isn't that what he is supposed to do? Isn't a protection dog supposed to be tuned into his handler and only act on command? I am not an authority on this but if I have been misled by my reading please correct me.

| Re: Is it really a Rottweiler? This is an interesting thread. In the USA breeding Rottweilers is not regulated as in Germany - Supervised By the ADRK and their Breed Wardens. Any dog can be bred and registered with the AKC. This poses a problem when it comes to quality control. Health Clearances, Type, Temperament, Working Ability etc. People breed their dogs for a plethera of reasons. If one is buying a puppy from a breeder - one should question the breeder to determine for what purpose they are breeding their dogs. The Rottweiler is a Working Breed - if they are not working - they are ornamental - idle dogs can potentially be problematic. There are a lot of beauty dogs coming in from Eastern Europe - but one must ensure their working titles, health clearances, and temperaments are "genuine" for the Rottweiler breed. From my perspective I have a ADRK German sired Multi BOB, V1, AKC/CKC/IntCh V1 SchH3/VPG 3, IPO 3 male (trained w/ Neubrand in Germany) - which I bought as a 10 week old puppy - he is not perfect - but a decent foundation dog. He has done Therapy work in Nursing homes and on Cancer Wards in the Hospitals. Yet the Germans - on the SchH field called him "the man eater". I have trained w/this dog for the IPO 3 trial routine. I want to breed/produce a dog with some of these attributes. My breeding program encompasses the work and show aspect. All the males I breed to, have a Ztp - or BST. This year, I am sending young dogs I have bred - for the SchH training, once they have their Ch titles. It is possible to have a full temperament Rottweiler - a beauty SchH3 dog - this is a painstaking goal many breeders strive for. Best of luck in your endeavours, Last edited by roscoe; 03-01-2008 at 03:47 PM. |
