Please read it and see what you should find out about contracts and how they should protect you.

I definitely would not get another puppy without a good, ethical contract in place.
hi as for that issue we have demanded a full vetinary rapport on the next one as advised by our vet as like i said we thought we had the best dog for showing purposes and we travelled over 126 miles each way to purchase her from this breeder. we could have bought one from down the road but we didnt. as the vet says it was really unlucky and very rare to purchase a pup with her condition. he has been a vet for over thirty years and has never come accross this condition in a rottie before. as i said we couldnt just part with our zelda as shes our big third baby (1st my son 2nd my j russell and 3rd zelda) besides zelda and my son adore each other and they are like partners in crime. as for health rapports my vet says you can go out and buy any dog with the paerents having the best hip scores etc and the pup could have a really high hip score. the breeder to the new pup is registered as a breeder in the kennel club as was the breeder of zelda. my vet sent a full vetarary rapport to the breeder and did state to him that if he found a fault in the new pup he purchases for us he himself will be held resposible for it. so i really dont think the breeder of zelda will take a chance of purchaseing a pup for us which would tarnish his reputation.

as for the health rapport my vet has stated that if the new pup has anything wrong with it zeldas breeder will be held responsable for it as a full health check has been asked for from the breeders vet before we take the pup. the pup will then be examined by my vet to make sure its health corrosponds with the other vetanary rapport.as for both breeders they are registered with the kc breeders scheme so they have to have there dogs hip scored. zeldas paerents wer 2/3 and 4/2. im not sure of the new pups as i will ask him tomorrow but saying this the vet has seen dogs come in with hd and both their pearents had low hip scores. this is the reason why he cannot give us another pup from his dogs as his dam has been advised by the kc not to be bred from again so he couldnt reg the pups with the kc if he were to breed her.we deffo are not getting another pup because we lost out we want to show rottweilers . we just want to know if it could work out having two female rotties as we allready have two bitches now. we have no choice than to accept his offer anyway.

You are new to the Rottweiler breed. You or your father may have had other bitches together of other breeds....but in the Rottweiler world...this may not work. It's different with hunting and hound breeds...because they often work as a pack...and tend to get along better. You have a working breed, that works one-on-one with man....they do not need to work with other dogs. Bitch aggression is VERY common in the breed...even with littermates having grown up together. The only way most people have two female Rottweilers together in the same household, is with a very large age difference. Usually about 5-7 years apart. Anything close in age...between 1-5 years....don't do well together. Are you prepared to keep two females apart if at the age of 2, they decide they hate each other? Do you have the set up in your h ome to keep them apart? Do you want to live with dogs that you must keep apart?

If I were in your shoes, in all honesty....I would not get another puppy right now. I would be taking my 7 month old to obedience classes, training and doing some sort of activity with my dog such as agility, herding, carting, obedience,etc...or whatever she is able to do because of her condition. Train and have a well behaved, adult dog before you think of adding another dog to your home. I would take a loss of the money....because of not getting another pup...and start saving and putting money away for another pup in the future. Add a male pup, and you know that you will not have any problems...and buy from a good breeder, when it's the right time.

Thank you to everyone who has given us advice about this we really appreciate it. We have decided NOT to get another puppy until zelda is older, properly trained and more mature. Thanks again

Very wise decision. Doing a good job with Zelda will position you to do an even better job with your next dog.

Thank you so much for listening to our advice. I really feel that you will give Zelda so much more with a one on one relationship with her, rather than she having to share attention with another new puppy at this time. Have fun training her!
