My Boy is Growing Up

Well the 25th of this month Ralph will be 1 yr old. He has been a treasure to our family. Alltho he a huge monster he still sits on our laps.

I know some of you make something special on your dogs birthdays, does anyone have any suggestions. I want to make it as special as he is to us.

Thanks for all the great advise and wisdom on this wonderful forum. He has not been an easy one to raise. Sandi

Re: My Boy is Growing Up

Happy birthday Rottie meatloaf cake.
2lbs extra lean chop meat(beef), 2lbs ground turkey,1cup raw oatmeal,2 beaten eggs,1/2 cup cooked diced carrots drained. Mix all items together and season with a pinch of garlic powder. When mixture is combined, place in baking pan. A large flat pan is best so the cake will be large in size but more flat to make more pieces depending on the size of the crowd. When meat is ready, take a bottle of ketchup and write, Happy 1st Birthday Ralph in block letters. There is also room to put two milk bones right in the raw meat mixture for more decoration. When the meat cooks, the ketchup hardens so you can read the writing. Bake at 350 about 1/2 an hour. Drain all juice and let cool until cake firms up.
We made these cakes for our last girl Sheena Marie. She was a very sweet girl and always had friends to her birthday. Lola is not so nice. She celebrated with just family and ate a smaller cake just for her because she won't share. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RALPH!!!

Again the noble Rottweiler is humanised
Rottweilers/dogs have no idea of Birthdays, proper gifts or cakes with candles.
Getting older myself… my gifts the later years were gift tokens to manicure/pedicure/hairdresser/ massage and that kind of betterment for my well-being!

I regret I may have lost my common sense, when I at all recommend birthdays gifts for dogs LOL.................
but I think it’s OK to “humanise” a Rottweiler IF the Birthday gift is a nail trimming and a good grooming and a run in the woods and a swim in the lake or a track (or good old obedience training or a bite or two in the sleeve!!!)

Happpy Birthday!
