"sit means sit" dog training

Hi everyone

is anyone familiar with "sit means sit" dog training? We're looking for a trainer for our 6 month male but this seems to be the only one fairly close. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone had good or bad reviews? suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: "sit means sit" dog training

I don't know alot about them other than they use shock collars to train the dogs. I personally am not comfortable with shock collars.

If it was me I'd call them and talk to them. Go check out a class, talk to others who have taken the class and are in classes now and then make my choice about whether that is a training program that I feel will work for me as well as my dog.
Good Luck :)

I was impressed with them and what several of their current and grad clients had to say, until I found out they used shock collars.

For me it's just not something that will work!

That facility is the home of No Limitations training - their motto is Sit Means Sit (or else, and I'll zap you until you do). I'd RUN, and I'd run FAR away from these people.

They are good at first impressions for those that read their website, but there is another side to the story which you may want to read before being impressed. There's another link inside this link to another thread that may also be of interest.

Re: "sit means sit" dog training

I think that's just wrong. There shouldn't be a need to shock a dog so it will be obedient. I've heard of a dog that ended up turning on the person pressing the button excessivly. People should just take their time and continue loving and it will happen.

Re: "sit means sit" dog training

I would not recommend it.

Family Dog Training Center is the facility I'd recommend in your area:
Home Page

Another good option is Argus Ranch

Oh my that is horrifying-Thanks for posting that Moondog!

Think of how many dogs that guy ruined, and if their "No Limitations Training" is run on the same principals, I would definatley be running away from them!

The last time I looked at some of their videos, not only did they use shock collars but he had one around the neck and one around the groin! Sickening!!

Here in Las Vegas I have also heard of them being referred to as "Nevada Power" because of the excessive use of the shock collar. I would stay far, far, away.

I doubt you will find anyone better to give you a recommendation than hcelsa, and she's already provided it to you:
