Re: dog packs?

When I went looking for them at the stores I was told they are seasonal and won't be out till late spring. I never knew dog walking was seasonal.

Perhaps it depends on where you live? We have them year round in California! You can buy them online anytime of the year.

Re: dog packs?

check REI.com: Outdoor Gear & Clothing for Spring Fitness, Cycling, Camping, Hiking & More.
they had a number of packs and if there is one in your area you can actually bring your dog in (until April 5) and have em try it on. If one is not in your area, just order it on line. Make sure you do the measurements of your dog cause each pack is a little different. We tried 4 or 5 until we got the correct fit.

I got the granite gear from REI and reallylike it. I bring my dogs in there all the time and have never had a problem.

Re: dog packs?

just google "dog backpacks". There's tons of them out there. I really want to get one also, but I'm going to wait until my dog is almost full-grown. They can be a tad pricey. Hope this helped.

Re: dog packs?

Mountainsmith (available at REI) make a great dog pack, all 3 of my boys have one. Lots of comfort features and straps to stabilize the load. My boys rip through the wood with their packs on, swim and roll in the snow and have never had a pack fall off or come loose.

Re: dog packs?

What I found was that only the kelty would fit Ellie. The granite gear was great but the medium was way to small and the large way too big. The packs are definately not one specific size for all.
