Talking How big do rottieS grow???

hiYA
this forum has helped me loads.it's great.
I hvae a question thats not urgent but i d like to know if anyone else has the same experience.I have a beautiful rottie Vinnie- he is amazing.......obedient gentle friendly and of course beautiful- He is one year old and is really tall.much taller than other rotties ive seen... he is full of beans and bounding around.has a huge head and feet and loves exercise. He is not thin but isnt as bulked out as some other rotties so i was just wondering......... does this sound normal?? i know this is a stupid question but i just wondered if anyone else has a taller rottie......... the vet says hes fine.......he weighs around 95 lbs.
Thanks Angie

Re: How big do rottieS grow???

My Rottie Sam was very tall too. We always joked and said he was part giraff. I always made sure he didn't bulk up to protect his joints. He was about 105 in his hay day. Vet always said he was in great shape.

My humongo-bitch is 27" tall!!! We keep her at about 90 pounds -- very long and lean. She is w-a-y out of standard, but we love her big goofball self anyway. She grew slowly until nearly three years of age and added about 10 very solid pounds in her shoulders/chest between ages 3 and 4.

My Baby Bear was a very skinny, lanky 105 pounds and 29" inches at withers when I adopted him at 17-months-old. His big head seemed hugely out of proportion to his skinny body. He turned 2 in October and he's started filling out in the chest and shoulders (all muscle) and looking more in proportion.

sounds like her and Raelin are twins! Raelin looks like she is on stilts she is so tall and she is very lean. She is about 90# now at 3 y/o.

Re: How big do rottieS grow???

We've got an 85 pound 7 1/2 yr old, a 90 pound 5 yr old, and are getting a 45 pound 5 month old on Saturday.

Genetics plays a role in size...how big were his parents? Without seeing a picture it sounds like he's growing nicely...

I've found they grow UP and then fill OUT...long and goofy before ending up looking like what most folks think of when they think Rottie. Although I've seen some long tall mature adult rotties...

My boy Kevlar was 27 inches tall and weighed 110 lbs. He was not overweight at all.

He was a great big lovable teddy bear.

Wow- mine are much larger. Baylee is 120 and Bentley is 125. They are very lean and yes, they do exercise, but they are very, very tall.

Re: How big do rottieS grow???

Chopper, my best friend in the world, is about 120 lbs. He is tall and lean and has a muzzle that won't quit. From a scared and abused pound dog to the best darn dog you'll ever meet in less than a year...that's what Rotties are capable of... overcoming adversity and responding to love and affection. All I have is what they give...and they bring to us compassion that is indescribable. Good luck and happy new year!
