What age to neuter?

Hi all just want to know at what age should I get my dog neutered.

What differences did you noticed after you had him neutered?

And does it effect there guarding instincts in anyway?

B4 U make your decision do a search on the forum for cancer & neutering.
My boy was neutered at 5 months (did not have the cancer research info or I would have waited). Sam died of bone cancer just before he turned 10 and I will always wonder if his early neutering played into his death. His instincts...ie. guarding, alpha behavior (which he was) were all intact.

I ended up neutering Caine at about 10 months old - a little against my will, but that's another issue. He will be 15 months old on Friday and I have noticed absolutely no difference in his behavior, attitude, or activity level.

We waited to have Ryker done at 16months someone told my DH that he would bulk out more if we waited. The only thing I notice is that he will mark everything, which when my other male dogs were neutered younger they didn't do that. I would go younger rather than older.

Chopper was 18 months when he was neutered, he has always been a mello dog, I did notice he gained 8 pounds in a little over a yr but That could be due to the fact he is LAZY and not the neuter, Gypsy will be around the same age before I spay her
