Re: Sleeping in bed

Baby Bear slept in his crate when I first brought him home because he was untrust-worthy around the house without supervision. As he got better behaved, he earned the priviledge of sleeping with the crate door left open, and it didn't take him long to show up in the bedroom and ask to be allowed up on the bed (he placed his chin on the edge of the bed and gave me the big brown-eyed look ). When I let him up he turned out to be a fantastic cuddle-bug, and he's been sleeping on the bed with me ever since. I LOVE having him next to me, especially on a cold night. Plus I get a good face licking every morning when the alarm goes off (he's *finally* adjusted to standard time), what a great way to start the day.

Re: Sleeping in bed

Having the dogs sleeping in your bed is a personal preference. I have always found that the 8 week old puppy just leaving his mother & siblings feels more comfortable in my bed than any other place in the house. So - all my puppys has slept behind my pillow. This does not mean that they will sleep in my bed forever.
When they are grown up I can say - you go to bed now -and I send them upstairs. Then they will warm up our beds - but when we come they will find their own beds. Never had any problems with rank here
