Re: best kind of leash?

I have leather, nylon, and cotton leashes.

I much prefer leather. Some of my leather leashes are supple and smooth from years of use and feel great in your hands. I put Lexol on them.

yes, i was thinking of getting a leather one - they nylon one hurts my hand, especially now that it's getting colder ...

Re: best kind of leash?

I just got a BiothaneBeta leash and I'm IN LOVE!!!! It's essentially coated nylon but looks and feels like leather. It's been used for hores tack for a while now. The real bonus is that you can literally put it in a bucket of soapy water to wash it off and you don't need any conditioning oils.

I've seen them here in tackshops for 60$ for a 6 foot leash but I managed to find one online for about 20$

Re: best kind of leash?

Good lord, I have more leashes than shoes anymore.

I don't/won't own nylon - so I am exclusive to either leather or the Gripper leashes.
Different leashes for different uses. And widths....

Check out the gripper leashes at The Gripper :: Leashes

Re: best kind of leash?

I love my leather leash, it is so soft and easy on the hands, I used to have the matching nylon leash and collar until my trainer suggested the leather, I will never own anything but leather again and I have had no problems with Lola trying to chew it.

Re: best kind of leash?

I used a 6 foot soft leather leash. It was nice harness leather.

I'd suggest if your dog is in the water a lot...especially sea water...make sure the leash has marine brass clips...they don't rust!

Re: best kind of leash?

Leather is wonderful but if you are careless even ONE time you will have a shorter leash and a puking dog! Ask me how I know this :-)
