| general size Hi there I just have a general question regarding my rottie called kruger. he is just shy of turning a year old, and currently weighs 105 pounds, is that a normal size for a 1yo male rottie? This is the first rottie I have owned and was just curios, he is pretty well behaved but has his moments, I was just curios as to how much bigger he will actually get, his head seems to be a little small at this stage, does that fill over the next year or two? or has he pretty much reached the size he will be? it is not important as my partner and I luv him to bits but was just wondering and was hoping he mite fill out quite a bit more. also does anyone have any good tips to aid with muscle development? Is swimming a good option? |

| Re: general size Your dog sounds pretty normal for his age. Swimming is excellent for conditioning, you don't want to do any roadwork at this age, that should not be started until the dog is at least 18 months of age. Did you see his sire and dam? Most dogs, if bred by someone who knows their breeding program, will look a lot like the sire and/or dam. Genetics play a huge part in the final look your dog will have. Many males will continue to develop their muscle mass and heads well into their 4th and 5th years of life. Just love him for what he is and what he will be, no matter what.
