Re: bully sticks

As with any treat you need to make sure they are appropriate to your dog... Does the dog happily knaw on it or does the dog bite off chunks and swallow them whole? Though an animal protien source and thus much better and more digestable then say rawhide or greenies, they can still cause a blockage if consumed in this manner... But in general, yes they are a "good" treat. I have found that the cheapest place to get them is on Ebay...

Re: bully sticks

My boy absolutely loves these! They aren't cheap, so he gets them infrequently. Just make sure your pup isn't swallowing pieces whole, or showing any signs of allergy, and they should be great treats.

Re: bully sticks

I have always given my young dogs who are still in kennels a lot bully sticks, but not the braided kind just because they do not last as long as the other ones.

I have never had a problem with my Rotts with them, but my Golden, being a Golden would chew on them for about 10 minutes then swallow them whole. Never had a blockage but she would always throw them up, whole, in the middle of the night. She lost her bully stick privileges pretty fast!

Re: bully sticks

I dont care how clean or dried up they are, bully sticks gross me out!! At least Daisy doesn't know where they come from!! She still loves them. There is a man that vends at alot of dogshows, and he has a soft spot for rotties, so we get them for like 5 for a dollar.
