Puppy Mill Video.......

WARNING - both of these video links are VERY GRAPHIC - but I hope everyone who is considering the purchase of a new puppy will stop long enough to watch BOTH of these. The first one shows the conditions that many puppy mill puppies are born into......the second video will show what happens when the commitment to our companion dogs for their LIFETIME isn't there.

I want everyone to know that I asked the forum staff PRIOR to posting this, because things like this can cause many of us to post passionate and strong feelings - and that isn't the purpose for me wanting to post this - but rather to give everyone who might not have seen the pictures from some of these puppy mill facilities before, to see them here and maybe one person will reconsider where they get their next puppy/dog - and also cause everyone adding another companion animal to their life, to give serious consideration to the commitment they are entering into for YEARS to come......

The Puppy Mill Video:
Puppy
Mill's

The Shelter Video:
Animal Shelter

(Thank you Forum Staff)

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

Jakesfostermom, Thank you for posting this!! I think it's invaluable for anyone who considers breeding at all. I certainly hope that anyone with little or no knowledge of breeding seriously reconsiders.

It was emotional and educational. Again, Thank you!

Admin thank you for letting me know why my op was deleted!

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

Thank you for sharing the Puppy Mill video. I hope anyone that views that film will think twice about purchasing a puppy from a pet store, back yard breeder, etc. Very educational. I have passed it along to other lists I belong to you as well as our dog club.

The Shelter video is something I had already shared with the forum and have used several more times to try and help educate people on why it is so important to spay or neuter your pet.

Thanks again for sharing

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

I am crying right now, because this is too real!

And so unnessary!

I am at a loss for words, but thank you for sharing these special and moving videos! It is appreciated and will be passed on. Maybe if we keep passing it on, it will reach a person who has the power to affect this tragedy in a positive manner- with the right decision.

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

The videos are heart wrenching. All five of my beloved animals are from shelters or someone who could no longer have them. Each has been spayed. I just wish that I had the resources to save more of these poor animals, it just breaks my heart to know that there are animals that are suffering because of innattentive humans.

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

I worked at a Humane Society when I was younger. The pictures are a reminder and I feel the same amount of anger as I did then.

I really believe that people should have to be licensed to own or breed animals. But, they let idiots have children so animals aren't about to be protected.

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

Very sad but true videos. I worked in a no-kill cat shelter for many years and was lucky I never witnessed animals being euthanised because of the overpopulation. I still saw many mistreated cats and sometimes dogs come into the shelter. Its really sad to see the way some humans could treat defensless animals. It makes me ill and very angry sometimes to know that this kind of treatment is happening worldwide.

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

God that brought tears to my eyes. ( i didn't expect that but the music really got to me in addition to the slides)

I had always heard puppy mills were bad and even some stories but never saw stuff like that. Reminds me of the abused cases of Animal Cops.

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

" Think occassionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight" I had to watch the video several times to catch the quote. It is now my favorite quote. I think I have to watch it again. What a tear jerker. I cant stress enough and believe me people get annoyed when I stress this. Dont buy a dog from a PUPPY MILL. They usually ask what is a PUPPY MILL???
EDUCATE THE PUBLIC, your neighbors, coworkers and family. It's the only way. DONT BREED EITHER unless you plan on spending your life upholding the breed for the betterment of it.

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

I would think that is where most pet stores get their dogs and cats.

Thumbs up Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

Oh, so so sad.

I look at my cat Hunter, lying upside down on my lap at this moment and can't imagine what kind of life he would be living if I didn't adopt him.

Re: Puppy Mill Video.......

I would never purchase a dog from a store but, we PTS our 8 year old Rottie last week.
Yesterday for some reason I went into a store on RT17 in NJ.
Just to see how bad they are.
I asked If they had any Rotties?
The Girl's repy was "A new shippment is due in 2 weeks"
Next I asked where are they coming from?
The replie was "ahh.. from all over the US & Europe".
I then said "Your getting in the Real German Rotties"...lol
"oh yes!!....They are pure German ones" with a straight face she replied.

Spread the word.
