Was this Keep-away or Hide-and-seek

Hi everybody,

My baby Bear did something funny this morning. He was laying on my bed as I was getting dressed and had a ball with him. At one point he nudged my arm and when I looked I didn't see the ball. I said "where's your ball?" and instead of looking around or pointing his nose at where he knew it was, he gave me a playful look. I looked around a little bit, then asked him again, "where's your ball?" Suddenly, he lifted his behind and grabbed the ball which he had been sitting on! It was clear that he thought it was terribly funny that he had pulled one over on me. Then he gave me the ball so I could throw it for him and we had a fun little game. He never showed any real possessiveness or agression about the ball, it seems that he just thought it was a fun new game.

Does anyone else's dog do anything like this? Is my Bear just a ham?

Toni

I think they are just full of fun, smart and have a sense of humor. Mine come up with some very clever, funny "jokes".

When Brutus is feeling frisky he will get his rope toy run over to me if i'm sitting or standing and he will seem to swing the rope in such away as to hit me in the leg. When I look at him when he does it, it seems he is laughing for a second and then just "Frolicks"(if a 90lbs animal can even) away swinging his little rope toy.

Re: Was this Keep-away or Hide-and-seek

Occasionally my bear will bring me a toy and then back away as I reach for it...not run away, just a slght back up so that I have to reach a 2nd time to get it...I always thought that was his way of engaging me in play...I notice he does this with other dogs too.

If I don't reach for it he waits a while and then hunkers dow for a good chew session.

Sense of humour??? our dogs....totally

the best Duke did...took away the TV remote from the coffee table after dinner...guess he figured it was one way of working in some quality time with everyone!!! (course we let him get away with it.....) And he is well past puppy search, chew and destroy stage.
