Where do you start measuring to determine height

Can someone tell me where to start measuring to determine height? I have no idea where to begin. Whitney

I believe you measure the height at the withers, (top of the back, just behind the neck, above the shoulders) That's how it is in horses anyway. Someone correct me if I'm wrong....

You are right. The measurement is taken from the top of the withers to the ground.

Thank Goodness! Thanks everyone for the info. I read in my Rottweiler book how to do it, but I was not 100% sure. After doing it correctly, it's good to see that Cam is a nice 27". You guys are really a helpful group! Whitney
