| training classes 2 questions....
Can anyone here recommend a good training school in the Cleveland OH area
and also, what is a good age to get my pup into classes. We just got him and he is a Rott/lab mix rescue pup who is about 6-7 weeks old. Because he was a rescue pup and was so young, he never got to learn all of the things he should have from his litter mates. We have had him for 4 days and he is already showing signs of respecting us and is doing great with the beginnings of potty training. He is starting to sleep through most of the night (he is a crate pup) without too much whining but he does have some issues..... He is a terrible biter! Not just the chewing and teething part of it, but actual biting. He doesn't seem to be doing it out of agression as much as playing but I want to break this habit as soon as possible. None of my past Rotts has this much of a problem but then again, I never got a pup before 9 weeks in the past.
I think getting him in to a class so I can learn to handle this would be the most responsible thing but I have never been to puppy classes before. When can we start them, what are the best classes to get into in my situation. How long should he be in classes? I have been doing a ton of research but each site I find tells me something different. I would rather here from actual people who have been through these classes. I am willing to do what ever it takes to bring this pup up right and make him a great member of my family. Both my husband and I are totally dedicated to proper training and however long it takes. |
