Disturbed Angel and Janet H. What is your monthly premium if I may ask and do you think it is worth it ? Do you know anyone who has collected on their policy ?

Re: Pet Insurance

VPI - and yes, they have covered Winston when he intestinal irritation. The bill was $300 - they reimbursed $175. Boy was I thrilled. They also donated $25,000 to the Katrina animal rescue. I pay $34 per month for full and extended coverage. I will never be caught unprepared again.

Re: Pet Insurance

Hi Macksworld,

My insurance is quite expensive and you can get it cheaper, but you obviously get less benefits. You will need to do a lot of research on what is available and what you consider is the best policy for you.

I pay £26.00 per month (approx. $45.00 US). There is an excess of £70 (approx. $121.00) per condition, per year.

I am covered for treatment costing up to £6000 per condition, per year
(approx. $10,500.00). I have made claims without any problem.

When my previous rott had cancer the total bill came to about £6000 and I was able to afford the best treatment for her thanks to the insurance.

Therefore, I would certainly recommend insuring your dog. Rotties, I think are vulnerable to so many problems, that I think the peace of mind is worth the cost.

I sincerely hope you can afford it but never have to claim.
