Rottweiler's for dummies

Not sure this is the best place to post this?

As the proud owner of a 7 week old bitch called Megan i have been searcing for more books to help me to understand more about the breed in general.

I came across a good book (easy to read) called Rottweiler's for dummies. You may have seen similar books on certain computer packages like Word and Excel. Anyway it gives a good understanding of the breed and gives clear information. I am finding it very helpful. Has anyone else got this book? If so what do you think?

Yup! I bought it before I adopted Cyrus.

A couple of other really good books on dogs in general are "Culture Clash" and "Bones would Rain From the Sky".

I have a few other Rottweiler books but they are "forgettable" so forgettable I can't remember what they are called

Congrats on your pup!

I read Rottweilers for Dummies upon recommendation of this site before I got Mook. Great book. Bones Would Rain From the Sky is on my shelf, but I haven't started it yet.

I would HIGHLY recomend reading Culture Clash. It is a very easy to read book, and the info is very practical. It is like a manual that comes with a car, and should be supplied with every puppy!!

Another one that was recommended was Excel-erated Learning, but I tried to read, and had a hard time wading through all the "scientific speak" in the book. It was kind of like reading Stephen Hawking explaining astro-physics.

I do want to pick up Culture Clash, though.

I also liked Culture Clash, but my favorite is the The Dog Whisperer.

I hear it's a great book! Tho I wish your pup had had one more week, at least, with mom. There is much they learn from mom in those first 8 (minimum) formative weeks.

It is a wonderful book! I purchased it before we got Julius & I highlighted a ton of stuff in it. It's a wonderful introductory book.

Another book that I loved, besides Culture Clash and Bones Would Rain...." is "The Other End of the Leash" by Patricia McConnell. It's a wonderful book all about dog behavior & our behavior as well. I found it fascinating & read it from cover to cover.

I like anything by Brian Kilcommons (Good Owners, Great Dogs). Monks of New SKete seems good so far.
