European Kennel Clubs?

Hi all,

This might seem like a silly question - but what are the national kennel clubs in Europe?
Specifically:
Britian,
France,
Spain,
Sweden,
Etc.

In Denmark it's Dansk Kennel Klub but we also have other Clubs for "bybs" and expelled members... I suppose so in other countries too.

http://www.fci.be/ Here are links to many Kennel Clubs all over the world... and if they are listed on FCI's site, it should count for some kind of quality!

Does anyone know why Canada is not a FCI member country, (Canadian Kennel Club) and the story about why?

I've only heard that CKC is not a FCI member, and I'm not even sure that's correct.

And that's why I'm getting confused. I mean, if I didn't know that the Continental Kennel Club was a BYB / Puppy Mill club (http://www.continentalkennelclub.com/?301fromckcusa) it would be easy to be sucked in by their very official website. And don't think for a minute that their matching the acronym of CKC (Canadian Kennel Club which is the NATIONAL club) was any sort of mistake.

So knowing that these other clubs exist, and that you need to know that it is the NATIONAL club for that country - it could be easy to refer to the wrong group of people.

Neither is the USA for that matter.

Does the CKC follow FCI standards for all breeds? That in itself could be a reason why not.
