| Pillowcases work too. Sew 1.5" channels lengthwise. I believe that would be about 8 channels. It takes 1 tsp of (Soil Moist) polimer granules per 12" x 1.5" channel. So that would be 1.5-2 tsp per channel. (*I prefer the long channel method because it's easier to open up and remove or add granules if it's too puffy or not puffy enough)Some people prefer to fill the first 6" of each channel with 1.2 tsp granules and sew shut, then fill the next 6" and fill. I believe the standard pillowcase is about 24 inches so you would end up with 8 channels divided this way 4 x. Cool bandanas are simply a bandana folded triangularle and a closed ended 1.5" channel made on the folded side, and filled with 1/2 tsp granules. ![]() As a side note: I prefer fabric that "breathes", not canvas (did it once) or laminated fabrics. They take too long to dry. As it is you can hang one on the line for days in 100 degree heat and it won't be completely dry.

| I just need to remind all that it was still 50 deg. on June 2nd... I am so glad it has finally warmed up and we need to enjoy it while it lasts. I blame news reporters for all the hype.. How come they cant ever just say it will be nice. It has been 3 days since we have gotten over 80 and already everyone is complaining about the HEAT WAVE... No one can just be happy can anymore can they. Sorry I had to rant. Enjoy the summer heat |

| Yes, here in the NE it has been so hottttttttt..go figure just over a week ago we were down in the 40's and then up in the 90's. My 2 hate this hot weather..they can't stand it. they will go out and play..but, after a bit they want to come in. We have a big house and we have to huge AC's and that cools down the whole house and they are in glory with that. I don't like to have them be hot and uncomfortable. |

| I became a temp foster mom to my rott because the owner left her tied in the direct sun with no shade. I wish I could find info on line to show him that these animals can't take that kind of heat, incase he ever gets another one. |

| We have a portable AC unit...HATE IT...keeps shutting off for some stupid reason - we do everything the manual tells us to do and the thing don't work! But that's OK...its upstairs - not down here where Ben & Baron live - we've got a nice cool 70 degrees...no humidity...inlaws have to deal with it...of course, when they turn the stupid thing off they NEVER remember to OPEN THE WINDOWS...so the house is BOILING stuffy hot upstairs!!!! |

| do you have it set to energy saver? I know my reg. unit will shut off if it's on energy saver and it hits the right temp. I'd call the manuf. and tell them your having problems..I know when my remote was eaten maytag was wonderful about replacing it. |

Definately no complaining, reaching almost 97 here yesterday and looking no better for today. Luckily Kobe does love the baby pool. ($10 at a yard sale for playskool pool) And if you bring treats she will even let you get in with her. |

| we average 45 degrees c ( don't know what this is in F). The heat is unbearable on a good day. On a bad day we think about russia or alaska just to get through the day. This lasts for 5 months. We freeze everything. Bones, water in drink bottles ,those soft ice packs, and even icecream containers full of water. We leave them every where. This means buying a chest deep freeze and more work but hey what else have we got to do. No exercise unless its just before sunrise when it seems to be the coolest. We have a shaded area off the house that has a timed sprinkler sytem that is just a mist.About $100 DIY Things seem to work here. We have central a/c too but in this type of heat its still not adequate.Yard pools are great too, you can fill them with ice and they last a while. Also atomiser with water in a mist becomes permantly attached to hand. Its the wosrt for the first 2 months then he seems to get used to it and it settles down a bit. We love the sprinkler sytem ouselves. We have it set so fine that you actually don't get wet from it. It just combats the heat well. Just some thoughts for you. |
