| Normal routine this morning hubby gets up gets dressed runs downstairs to get coffee started and then grabs his coat and then comes for dogs. Well I got woke up by a yelp a loud yelp and crying and a dog freaking out. Sarge somehow got his foot stuck in the kennel not sure if it was a toenail or what. I was not awake and I was trying everything screamed for hubby and then Sarge bit me cuz I hurt him. I yanked my hand back and then I see him yank back and his foot came unstuck. He then lowered his head and I called for him and he came. yet he was hesistant. It was like he thought I was going to beat him for biting me. I got him out of the kennel and inspected his paw and no blood or torn area but he was limping for a bit. Normally I do not take him to take hubby to work but today I did so I could watch him. When we got home he was walking fine and no more sign of injury. But now I am lookin at his wire kennel and trying to come up with a plan to put something in it so he cannot claw at the door. And if he does he wont hurt his paws. As for the bite it was no big deal. A small tooth mark in my finger and no blood came out. I grabbed him when he was hurting so he didnt just bite me. So I did not correct him at all. I guess I just wanted to know has anybody had this experience and is there something you would suggest to weave through the kennel to make it less "catchy" on his paw??? What a way to start Christmas eve.

| Re: Dog foot hurt in kennel Wire or kennel aire? Regardless, I wouldn't worry about it. He was afterall able to unstick his foot himself. Anything you add will simply be something more to grab his toes. Likely this taught him to keep his foot back. |

| Re: Dog foot hurt in kennel I've seen some people wire plexi glass to the inside of the doors for the bottom 1/3. That way they can't dig at it. However, 98% of dogs never have a problem with their crates, and if they do? They only do once.
