Re: How tall?

My girl is 6 months old, about 20" tall. I keep looking at her trying to remember what her parents looked like as far as their height, and wondering if she'll get taller, but I guess at 6 months old, she still has time to grow. Her ears are still too big for her head, so I'm hoping that's a sign too.

Re: How tall?

Diesel is turning two in January and is 33" tall, he got very long legs. But looking back both of his parents are also tall and thin.

Re: How tall?

My rocky is 28.5" tall at the shoulders. He weighed in at 160 back in november. He will be 2 years old in a couple of months. I keep hearing that dogs tend to fill out between 2 and 3 years old. I never paid much mind in past years, because I was always bigger than the dogs. But good grief, if his shoulders ever fill out enough to get his elbows from pointing towards each other, he won't be able to ride in my truck any more. It's only a half ton, you see.

Re: How tall?

Teazle is 16 months and has been 24" since she was about 12 months. She only weighs about 66lbs though but she isn't skinny, just lean. She has a lovely figure, just not very rottiesish.

Re: How tall?

Ben will be 6 in April - he weighs almost 80 pounds and stands 24 inches at the shoulder. He is slight in build but solid, lean and healthy.

Baron carries all his weight in his big fat head ....seriously. He weighed 80 pounds when we adopted him in September. I imagine he's about 85 now, lean and leggy, about 25 inches at the shoulder, actually, pretty close to breed standard except for weight. The shelter said he was 2 years old, but I think he's younger - he's very puppyish in everything he does, and how he looks structurally (unless he's a wickedly out of proportion male!). He's lean, some think too lean, but if he's as young as we think, he's got time to fill out...

33" tall? Are you sure you're measuring right? Heighth is measured to the top of the shoulder blades (withers).

Don't take offense here, but 160 lbs seems like a lot of extra weight, even for a dog thats over the standard upper limit height of 27 inches.

Agreed. He looks properly sized, but his ribs ARE starting to dissappear. As the weather went south, so did the daily walks it would seem. Back when he was 150, I could feel all his ribs, I just thought that maybe he lost them.

150 still seems like an awful lot.
