Crates?

What type of crate do you have? I am looking for a new crate for Diesel. He's currently in the standard plastic/rubber crate. I am looking for a wire crate for him. Any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated. TIA.

Re: Crates?

I got my crates at PetCo - I think they are the Midwest two door folding crates. They were on sale for about $120, and too big for my dogs but they didn't mind the extra space and never messed in them. I think I got the 30"W x 48"D x 33"H size for dogs up to 110 pounds. I went by height of the dog and length of the dog versus weight when getting my crates.

Ben now has a tent (soft sided) folding crate that weighs significantly less, and we only use it when traveling. Baron HATES the crate 1000% - we used an ExPen for him instead and he never messed in it.

Re: Crates?

Someone on here suggested Ebay when I was shopping for mine and most recommended Midwest..I got a MidWest crate for a great deal..and it was brand new in the box. The person I got mine from sold every Midwest kind imaginable, folding, 2 door, economy you name it all brand new. Shipping wasn't very much and the delivery was really fast.

Re: Crates?

Mine is a Midwest Better buy I got it at Petco for about $99. Awesome deal as it is one of the big 48"D x 35"H x 30"W one. I can get in it with him. We use this only at home. We drug it to a fun match once and it was a pain!!! ONce I feel comfortable with him in one, I'll be getting the soft sided ones, but for now, he has to have metal. One thing to think about with the soft ones is they don't breathe so well in the heat.
