| Hi all, I have a question..I think everything will be ok but I just wanted some adition in put. My husband and I are taking our 6yr old female to Nebraska for the x-mas holiday weekend to visit my dad..anyway..he has a (I think) 5-7yr male pomeranian...I know he's "tempermental" he's always been fine with me..but with the kids (which they are learning) they can't play with him like they can with Isis. My question is..how would you go about introducing them..see we are hoping they'll be ok with each other so that we can stay with my dad for those 2 1/2 days. I thought about sending one of Isis' stuffed toys out that way so that he gets familar with her scent.]any Ideas would be helpful. thanks in advance |

| Re: how to greet dog's My neighbor has 2 pomeranians, a young male, and an older female. Even though the male is willing to play with Vegas (dunno how, they are about 90 lbs difference) my boy wants to play with the girl, cuz he can't have her. lol He prances around in frustration, he doesn't know what to do with them!

| Re: how to greet dog's The real experts will hopefully chime in, but one suggestion I would have is to introduce them on neutral territory. Have your dad take the Pom out on a walk down the block or someplace where the Pom won't think is his territory. Then walk your dog up and let them sniff and whatnot to get to know each other. Then you can try maybe going on a short walk together to see how they will do. If they do well, then go to the house, letting the Pom go in before Isis (cool name BTW). You might want to leave the leash on Isis for a little while in the house just to be on the safe side. See how they do and take it from there. As far as the kids go...sorry can't help you much there as I don't have any! |

| Re: how to greet dog's thanks...I've had the same Ideas..I guess I just wanted some input to see if they were good ideas..thanks again and I'll let you all know how things went when we return. I know Isis will do fine..she LOVES to play with other animals..of any kind..It's Bo (the Pom) I wonder about..but my aunt said that if Bo does like her on HIS turf..that we can stay at her house. thanks again guys.
