| Average size? Its been a while since I posted here. I almost feel guilty jumping in and asking questions when I havent really been a contributing member, so forgive me please? I have a female Rottie who is about to turn 7 months old. Her name is Gracie or Angel face grace as I sometimes call her I think shes doing ok weight wise but thought Id ask you all. At 6 1/2 months she was 66 lbs. With my past experience with MALE rotties, they seemed to be about 10 lbs for every month old they were, so according to the males I had SHE seems to be following suit. Being a female is that a lil too much for her? Or would you say shes probably at a healthy weight? |

| Re: Average size? Appropriate weight per age can vary a great deal with the bone, substance and with the time for maturation with that family. I don't think there is an average. |

| Re: Average size? The best way to tell if your dog is at a healthy weight is not to compare it to others. Each dog is different. You will know when your dog is at a healthy weigh if you can, when standing over your dog clearly see a tuck behind the rib cage. and when feeling your dog you should be able to feel the rib through a thin layer of fat. We have had many thread discussing this topic, feel free to search the topic as well, as you will come out with lots of great information.
