| Re: When do females first come into heat Blaze came into heat for the first time at 6 months, to the DAY. And has 4 month cycles. Hopefully this will change after her first litter, if she DOES have a litter. Leader

| Re: When do females first come into heat Winnie came into heat at almost a year, just a few days shy of her 1st birthday. Like JudiW said, it varies. It's different for every dog.

| Re: When do females first come into heat Athena went into heat at around 9 months. Afterwards, she was immediately spayed.  I was in school & time just flew by! between job, school & a puppy, she became an adult dog so fast!

| Re: When do females first come into heat I believe 6-10 months is fairly common, but 12 months wouldn't be cause for alarm, I wouldn't think. I know of one pup who had her first heat (smaller breed) at 4.5 months.

 Anyways, when we adopted Bella three years ago she was in heat and the shelter was guessing she was 6 to 8 months old. When our vet met her, he thought she was closer to 9 months old. I was hoping the age range was smaller so that we would have had a more precise idea of her age, but oh well.

 Thankfully her cycles have been normal since then, or I would have said to heck with showing her and would have just gotten her spayed.
