| "Dogs-The Early Years" - great show This show is from the "Nature" series and was shown on my local Public Broadcasting station last night. It was a really good show about puppies and was very informative, particularly for any novice considering adopting a puppy. It stresses how important it is to research a breed's history and characteristics and not to choose a breed because you like the way it looks or because someone you know has a really nice one. They also stressed the importance of socialiation and training, and that "love is not enough", and the investment in time and effort required to have a good family pet. I have people contacting me from time to time about acquiring rotties, so I just ordered the DVD of this show to lend out! You can find out more about it here: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/puppies/index.html I don't know when this show might be aired again, but I know they repeat the Nature shows from time to time - so if you see it listed, it's worth a look!
