| What Magazine Subscriptions and why? I'm trying to do some research and decide what magazine(s) I might want to purchase. I was wondering what are some of the Magazine Subscriptions that you might subscribe to and why. Are there some better for the working dog, training, grooming, breeding, nutrition, etc… Hopefully this is the right section for this post. Patty

| Re: What Magazine Subscriptions and why? Both Dog Fancy and Dog World I subscribe to, and I do buy the occassional "Training" publications - general training, not breed specific... Both of the subscriptions have fairly decent articles regarding health & nutrition, training and other issues...I wouldn't take it as the gospel but I'm able to get a fair share of 'stuff' out of what I'm paying for :) Does this help?? Probably not |

| Re: What Magazine Subscriptions and why? I used to subscribe to DF and DW years ago. I quit DF pretty quick. Clearly directed at novice owners, and I got bored with it quickly. Also with the scads of ads for high risk and commercial breeders. This is eventually what turned me off to DW as well, altho they did have some nice breed articles. The best one (and I need to renew) that I have always liked is the American Kennel Club's Gazette. Really good one there. If you are into Obedience, Front and Finish is nice. Of course I get the ARK, the newsletter of the American Rottweiler Club. It has lots of great info and articles. |

| Re: What Magazine Subscriptions and why? My absolute favorite magazine is not published in the US. I've gotten copies of it at Barnes and Nobels, but it is available for subscription even "overseas" from the UK to the USA. It has great training articles and medical issues (deafness, epilipsy, arthritis, and cancer-Sept issue). They focus an a specific breed per month. (Clumber Spaniels this month) They have articles on rescues, fun and games, nutrition, and a Q & A segment. I particularly enjoy the training-behaviorist sections. I often read good common sense methods of enhancing training, basic training, clicker training etc. I ejnoy Dog World and Dog Fancy but I enjoy the Britts YOUR DOG more.

| Re: What Magazine Subscriptions and why? "Bark" magazine donated 10 subscriptions to benefit Rottstock - it is more a literary magazine than a training one. But their generosity is good enough for me :)

| Re: What Magazine Subscriptions and why? I subscribe to front and finish... I also subscribe to TRQ and TRM (the rottweiler magazines).... I usually pick up a free copy of dog news at shows.... Then I add up how much certain breeders have spent advertising their Rotties in TRQ, TRW and Dog News....just kidding

| Re: What Magazine Subscriptions and why? Clean Run, Bloodlines (UKC) and my breed clubs' newsletters. I pick up copies of others if they have something interesting in them.
