They will normally reach their maximum height around a year old. After that it will take another year or two for them to completely fill out. So around three years old, so be prepared for some really funny but cute looking stages.

Your puppy will still grow fairly rapidly until about 6 months of age. By 9 to 10 months of age, he will have almost all his adult height. By one year he will have reached a pretty steady weight. Depending on the dog, the lines, and the rate of maturity, a dog can still gain 10 to 15 lbs of body mass after 18 months of age. In my personal experience, most dogs are not fully physically mature until around 3 to even 4 years of age.

They grow and fill out until about 3 years of age. Mine added 1" and about 12lbs in the last year. Some lines develop slower, some faster.

I think the question was how long do they continue to grow, Stubby , not how big they end up at. Or maybe I misunderstood?

I agree with everyone else that they will most likly grow rapidly up till around a year and fill out up until they are 3 or so........

Or this after about three years:
Males range from 24" to 27" at the shoulder and 95-135 lbs in weight. Females are somewhat smaller, 22" to 25" tall and 80 to I 00 lbs.

You don't say!!!!!! I thought Banja was done with most of her major growth and would slowly put weight on over time (maybe another 5-8lbs). WRONG! Last week she was looking a tad thin, and I figured since I'd cut Vik and Bort's food a bit, perhaps hers got cut accidentally.

Every time we go to the vet, I put the dogs on the scale (one of those built-into-the floor ones that wiggles). She was up to 81lbs! In one month, my girl put on 4lbs (at the age of 16mos). Eeek!!!! And at 81, her hips and ribs show. So the Monster Rott is now getting 4C per day of food (egads!) and I'd be willing to bet at her chiro appointment this afternoon, she's up to 83lbs. Funny thing is, Bort, who is about 2" taller and just looks so much more massive is only at 85 lbs.

She's just really widening out. Her head is broadening and her neck grew in circumfrence as evidenced by the fact that her tick collar is now too small and rubbing a bare spot on her neck (we'll pick up a new one this afternoon).

I think Ban will end up at the top of the standard, Vik is down at the lower end.....it's funny to see the differences between them (they are cousins: Vikka's mom and Banja's dad are littermates).

Daisy, almost 4 yrs old, reached her final height (27" at the shoulder) and weight (88 lbs.) at about age 2 1/2 years. I know she weighed 76 pounds at age 1, so she added 12 pounds over the next 18 months. She is a tall, slender grrrrrrrl.

Vegas is just over 50lbs now, at 5 months. My dad asks me the other day, "So is he done growing now? He's big eh?" He just doesn't get it. I've shown him pictures, I told him how much he'll weigh approx when he's done growing.

Sam is NOT a big male, Amanda says that everyone thinks he's far bigger than he is. Last I spoke with her, Sam was around 95lbs What fools everyone is that he's in top condition and absolutely ripped.

Your breeder should be able to give you a better feel for how her lines mature, have you tried contacting her?

yea i know all about her blood lines and all that stuff i was just thinkin of that question while i was at work and decided to write it. why did i ask? i wasnt wondering how big they get i was wondering how long they grow for meaning when do they stop cause its fun watching her growand that has been answered . i wasnt upset either that was just a reterted reply thats why i answered it back like that lol ..yea i talk to my breeder all the time on email this is a good forum btw . glad to be a part .. oh yea that's whats next to the a huh? caps lock damn no wonder my password was messed up jk hahahha
