I was in an auto accident last October and was hurt pretty bad. I spent over a hundred days taking narcotics for pain relief. I did not think that it was a good way to live, so I asked my doctor to take me off the drugs.

I still have pain in my back and hip almost daily. I've been to physical therapy and got much stronger but the pain never went away.

Until I found Rottie Reiki.

Jager seems to know exactly where the pain is and will lie down next to me and place her head, paw or back on the exact spot that is hurting me. I do not know how she knows where to go but she does it. The wonderful thing is, I get just as much relief from her as I ever did with narcotics. Maybe more relief even.

I think I am blessed with a wonderful dog that is smarter than science would admit to.

Are there any other members here that have a Rottie Reiki Master in their mists? Does anyone else believe that dogs (animals) have powers that they can sense pain and even remove pain?

Or am I just a fool?

Mine knows when I am hurting emotionally and will kiss away the tears and then will do something cute to make me Smile and then want to play to make me forget what I was upset about. All the dogs I have EVER had were like that. I had an old english sheep dog from the time I was 10 until Three or four years ago and she used to nudge you to pet her when you were crying.
My Black lab who just passed to the rainbow bridge in Feb used to come over and lay her head on your shoulder as if to say "Im hugging you mommy, its ok" when I was crying. Now I have Harley who will kiss away the tears, do something silly and then he will play.

OMG - I am so sorry to hear about your accident - aren't you lucky to have a dog that is SO in-tune to you that their touch is healing and soothing for you.

Some things cannot be explained - it only matters if it works for you.

I believe that dogs can sense when we have pains either physically or emotionally. I've seen shows on dogs that help in so many ways, like the dogs who know before their master is having a seizure and will help direct their master to a safe place during the seizure.

So glad that you have your Jager to help you through this time in your life.

I think certain dogs have talents they hone in on for any number of unknown reasons. Some can detect chemical imbalances and have honed in on that talent, so they can detect seizures, certain cancers, pain and diabetic problems, etc. Some, like people, develop the talent further. Others don't or aren't aware they even posess a talent. Still others, perhaps have nothing to develop.

Consider yourself lucky your dog has picked up on something and has done something to help. Sorry you still have pain.

JBarry, that is amazing that your dog can alleviate some/all of your pain. I hope your recovery continues to go well......and I actually have an acquaintance who has a rottie that "sniffs out cancer" - and I know that sounds strange, but she basically saved his life, because she would not give it up about a place on his face, that he saw nothing wrong with, and he finally had his doctor look at it, and it was an aggressive skin cancer. She has since found similar skin cancers in people other than him.....is that not interesting?!!

I am very sorry you had the accident!!! Hopefully you are on the road to recovery now with your four footed helper.:) I believe that the power of the mind and positive thought can be a great healer. Add to that a rottie friend who knows when you need help and you are good to go!!:D
