Re: Aggressive Dogs : Lying Owners

Well - I for one have had it with little dogs.

I love my dog. I love our breed. I WILL NOT be put in a situation again where a little dog may attack my dog and cause an incidence.

Parker did react well (although if I wasn't there, I could see him defending himself which I wouldn't fault him for). But what if he didn't? What if he responded in kind and put a bite on this little dog? Parker might get a puncture wound at best. The little dog would be dead at the worst.

Who's fault would it be? The little cute dog? Or the big, mean Rottweiler? :(

I've worked so hard to chose, train, socialize and love Parker to the best of my abilities. I refuse to have that put at jepordy due to an 'in denial' small dog owner.

Parker and I will now only trust little dogs that we know.

I totally understand, Trish.

We actually called animal control last night after Ryan got back from a walk about an off leash dog. This dog is CONSTANTLY off leash (see here: http://www.rottweiler.net/forums/showthread.php?t=32322) & we've been dealing with her aggressive dog for a little over a year now. Well yesterday took the cake. The dog was a block down from it's house & tried to attack Jules. I wasn't with Ryan but apparently he got the little dog under control & marched it back to the owner's house. He proceeded to give the owner an earfull.

We called Animal Control & the officer went over today & actually fined the woman because this is not the first complaint. Ryan explained to the Animal Control officer that since we have a Rottweiler if this dog had bitten Julius & Jules defended himself it would have been the "mean" Rottweiler's fault. I'm just so through with irresponsible dog owners. I didn't really notice them until after I finally have a dog. Now I just see them everywhere. Really pushes my buttons...

Re: Aggressive Dogs : Lying Owners

I am glad to here that Parker and Julius behaved very well because if something happened you know who wouldve gotten the blame if something wouldve happend to the "cute little dogies".
