Boarding Facility

For those of you who board or will be boarding your Rotties.

Do you allow the facility where you board to walk your dog? I am unsure what to do. The place I will be boarding Xena at this summer does dog walking. But since this breed is so powerful, I just am not sure whether this is ok to do. It is along a very busy street. I am just thinking the worst, and want to be cautious, but am I being overly cautious?

What do you do? Do you allow them to walk your Rottie?

Re: Boarding Facility

I don't allow it. My kennel also has a huge area that is fenced in securely that she allows the dogs to play together and I opt out of that unless it's just my 2 guys. Better safe, than sorry.

Re: Boarding Facility

Hey Rottnlove,
I am a new Rottie owner, just adopted Papa Bear back in September. Anyhow, we found a kennel to board him....I actually just talked to them today and am going out to take a look at it myself just to be sure. My Rott has fear aggression, so I want him specifically in one kennel, no interaction with other dogs other than my own and no interaction with people. I just feel safer if they just let him out to pee and change his food and water while he's out to pee so I feel better about the chance of an incidence. If he wasn't aggressive, I still wouldn't let someone walk him b/c, like you said, they are quite powerful. Better safe than sorry. ;)
