8 to 10 years. I have been seeing lots of 11's and 12's lately though.

Re: How long do Rotties live on avg?

I did a search on google and came up with somewhere between 8 and 10 years but everyone I know who has taken good care of their dogs it was a little over 10 with 15 being great.

Re: How long do Rotties live on avg?

8 to 10 may be average, but ask your breeder how old some of the his dogs have lived. If they are not living to the age of 8, you might want to question why.

I didn't want to read this thread as Chase is somewhere between 8 and 10. :(

Rocco is only 20 months and Perle 4 years - I don't even want to think about it.

Sasha lived pretty long, especailly as she was a heartworm survivor.

Rottiegirl how long did your Shasha live? I just adopted Hercules last month and he was Heartworm positive at one time too. I always wondered if that would limit my time that I would have with him? He'll be 3 yrs. old later this year so hopefully a long way to go.

Re: How long do Rotties live on avg?

My male rottie is eight and a half years old and still acts like a pup but I know that can change in a heartbeat. He fortunately hasn't had any health problems so hopefully he'll be one of those long lived rotties.:)

I know of a guy whose female lived to be 15 years old.:)
