Rottweiler Resources

I was wondering about more Rottweiler Resources. I currently own Rottweilers for dummies, The complete Rottweiler and the Rottweiler Breed Magazine from Dog Fancy and have a subscription to Dog Fancy. However I have heard about Magazine subscriptions that are just about the Rottweiler such as Rottweiler Quarterly. My question is do any of the magazines have good correct information on the Rottweiler? Which mags are the best? and where can i go to get a subscription to them? Also if any one has any recommendations on any more books please enlightened me?

Re: Rottweiler Resources

I would say that a must for any dog owner is "Culture Clash" by Jean Donaldson.

Also, "Bones Would Rain Down From The Sky" by Suzanne Clothier. Wonderful read.

Both are not specifically about Rottweilers but are wonderful...

:)

Re: Rottweiler Resources

Great list samantha,

I'm going to check out those shutzhund books asap.
I'd also like to add a great book that was required reading in my animal behavior class called " Don't Shoot the Dog" by Karen Pryor.

Re: Rottweiler Resources

I have quite a few dog (rottweiler) books. By far the one that I found to be most informative was a basic behavior book. The book is "How to Speak Dog" by Stanley Coren. Well written and full of good information that is easy for the average person to understand. Well worth the $12.95 it cost me. Worth way more than some of the others I bought and spent more for.

Re: Rottweiler Resources

WOW, Samantha that is a very impressive list!

Here are the ones off that list that I own. Not very many compared to Samantha but I am adding slowly but surely. Of course I would probably have many more dog books if I didn't feel the need to keep adding to my equine library also ;)

A couple that I own in addition to the ones on Samantha's list are,
"Beyond Basic Obedience" I forget who it is by
"Dog Tricks For Dummies" this book has some great tricks that are very easy to teach
