When they stop growing :)

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Large breeds keep growing a lot longer than small-medium breeds. If I recall correctly, you can expect him to keep growing to 1.5+ years.

Re: Rottweiler full growth potential

I have heard that Rottweilers continue to fill out and grow until they are three years old. Some may stop sooner and some may continue a little longer. It really depends on the dog. I think that three is about average tho.

That's what I have always known Luvs, was up to three years witht he exception of the head of the dog, in which case I have heard up to four, as long as the dog isn't being "forced" to grow to fast.

OK, even longer! I guess I was remembering that a common antibiotic, Baytril, should not be given to a Rottweiler before he is at least 1.5 years because it destroys developing cartilege. In smaller breeds it can be given earlier because the growth phase is over.

What do you mean force to grow to fast? Over feeding? If over feeding you mean the dog gets to be full grown size sooner? I know this would not be healthy for the pup but just asking. At which point does a pup start growing in height?
