Dog Ears

Silly question really.

Rolffe is almost 2 years old, how the time flies! Anyhow, he still has his overly large puppy ears. He body is the size of an adult, but his head has yet to grow into his ears or his body for the matter. It doesn't bother me at all, in fact I love it, because it makes him look like the puppy he still is.

Anyone? Just curious as to when to expect him to start fitting his ears.

Thanks,

Jill

Your puppy will go through all kinds of weird growth spurts that will make him look funny all the time. You will see the "big head" syndrome, the "giraffe" syndrome, the "all legs" syndrome to name a few.

Good thing is a lot of these are temporary. I don't know what the exact age that they stop going through the "uglies" is, but I think its around 2 or so.

He may have larger ears...what was mom and dad like?

Also, if you do a search on ears, you'll find tons of info. :)

Thanks to both of you.

Yeah, I knew that they went through phases but thought that it would all be over by now. With my 3 year old Audrey, she went through the all legs thing.
Rolffe's parents both have ears that are correct for their heads as well as correct standardly speaking.
Never thought to do a search on ears but will do so immediatly. Really though, I could care less what his ears look like, just curious. I love the fact that he still has such a puppy head.

Thanks again for the insight,

Jill

P.S. His ears are sitting correctly on his head, it's just the size that I was wondering about. It's almost like he has the ears of an adult and his head doesn't fit them yet...

...one of the more knowlegable members states the heads often finish last - which I'd assume means there is a chance Rolffe may yet catch up to his ears.

My shelter rescue Daphne has somewhat overly large ears, and I agree it gives a more puppy like expression. I think it's cute. :)
