USRC

I was wondering if there was something going on with USRC. Have their been changes in policies and/or people lately?

I am just a regular Rott owner. I dont breed or conduct professional training or am a dog club member or anything like that. I don't know if those are the people USRC was designed for.

It just seems like they are highly disorganized and that they really are no help. This is strictly my own opinion and I am the first one to admit that I may not be aware of all the great things they do.

I still can not get my USRC magazine, and they don't respond to my e-mails when you ask them for help (ie where is my magazine, where can I get a dog tattoo, etc).

They also do not seem to do much as far as organizing events (ie fund raisers for rescue) or anything outside of dog shows. And the dog shows seem more organized by the local clubs than USRC.

I have also been at some shows where you hear grumblings by the people who show about USRC. Whether it be the rules, politics, or judges. Its rare that I hear anything postive about this organization.

Is this club primarily for people who want to show and trial their dogs? I thought it was more of a club to support the rottweiler community as a whole and thats why I joined.

The USRC is designed for any interested fancier of the breed who embraces the Sieger style atmosphere and working ability in their dogs.

Have you emailed Darlene directly? She is extremely prompt where the magazine is concerned.

The individual clubs always organize the shows and trials.

AKC, USRC, ARV, USA, DVG.........doesn't matter where you are. You hear the same s - different day. You can't please everyone. There are pros and cons to every organization.

The creed of the USRC is to support the working/conformation Rottweiler. Does it live up to that creed? That opinion will vary from person to person.

I don't expect clubs to define who I am, who my dogs are or what we can accomplish so I guess by doing so, I am not disappointed as easily. But that is really a question to ask yourself.

If you'll pm me or e-mail me, I can check your status in the membership database. The membership office did change hands recently.

The addresses used for the magazine are sent by the membership officer to the magazine editor on a quarterly basis, so you really need to coordinate with the membership officer.

On the tattoo question, you need to contact a breed warden in your area. Sometimes it's easier to find a USA breed warden and they're more likely to be tattooists as well.
