I feed my Sensi from the ground and my Reba has a raised dish so she can be more comfortable because of her severe HD. I have had no problems at all. And Reba is a happy camper!

Lori if I were you I'd feed Makita from a raised dish to make it as comfortable as possible for her. If she is a "Hoover" when eatting, maybe moisten her food so it will slow her down.

I use elevated bowls for Dre, also used them for Xavier. No problems. When Xavier was alsive and currently with Dre, they don't scarf their food down. Dre is actually kind of dainty(sp?) in how he eats. Now I go against the grain and I free feed. Never had a problem with all the dogs I ever had. I think it is one of the reasons they don't inhale their food at once.

Hi Samanthac! I love reading your posts and just wanted to say THANKS for sharing your knowledge with all of us. Maybe sometime when your up this way we could meet? I sure would love to see your dogs and get to meet you in person. Hope this doesn't sound too forward. My apologies if it does. I just can't seem to learn enough about rotties, and, I love meeting people.

Thanks again,
Dee

We won't forget you

Rob, you're even closer for samantha and I:D . I'm about 45 from Allentown and Bethlehem, not sure how far that is and I'm only 15 mintues from samantha:D . I say we ALL get together sometime and meet, how does that sound? Instead of just saying it, let's do it!!!!

We used to feed both Aedia and Dante from the floor... However, Aedia would scarf her food down so fast that she would have coughing fits and end up spitting up some of her kibble. We didn't purchase anything to elevate her bowl because she is so short, we just put the her food and water bowl on a couple of plastic milk crates. (We still feed Dante from the floor).

I will go back to the raised dish, Makita is not that much of a hoover, so I would worry more about her straining to bend over and eat, versus bloat at this point. Thanks. :)

Sounds like an idea Judy. Man, I don't know what my wife would do with all of them Rotties in one place.

Would your wife be scared?

Rob we could first all meet w/o dogs, how does that sound, in fact meet at a halfway point and have dinner or something, nothing formal just some rottie people getting together:D . I'm flexable and game for anything. I love meeting people, especially rottie people, don't have too many around here;) , only samantha and we can't forget nayjo, they should come too. This will be fun, now we just have to do it!!!

People are always welcome here and you living in Allentown is real close.

Sorry Major, I just realized we are waaaaay off topic, I will PM Rob bc I don't want to get in trouble:D .
