Ocean, your dog house sounds like mine. We also added the plexiglass windows, matching siding, tile roof and front porch. It's big enough for 4 rotties.:D

Just a tip....I go down to the local upholstery shop and the owner gives me the old foam cushions off of chesterfields, free for the dogs. I just throw a quilt over the cushion...cheap and warm.

We use a veri-kennel/crate in our dog run... We had an old 700 sized (Great Dane size) and just removed the metal door. It's plenty big for me and a dog... Our dogs have never jumped on the top to hang out. It's a cheap way to make a dog house if you have an old crate or even to buy a 500 sized veri-kennel is about $75.

Hmmm, we actually do have a Vari-Kennel crate that is not in use. I'll have to talk to Ryan about that. Thanks for the info....

This doghouse is made of waterproof plywood. It has double walls and double floor insulated with 3 inches tick rock wool and frostproof for a cold winter.

The roof is filled up with rock wool too. It’s removable to make cleaning easy. The doggie door is a little larger than the doorway and shuts tight. (It takes one pound of liver and 10 min. to teach a pup use the door ;))

I use straw as bedding. The only “problem” I have is, to day it's 17 degrees F and my dog finds our heated house to hot and prefers to be outside in the doghouse

Wowie....that is such an adorable dog house. AND....it's in my favorite color. :) I'll show it to Ryan.

Thanks!

Forgot to say, my dogs wouldn't go into the Igloo doghouse. I tried throwing treats in their...no way...the female would run and grab the treat and run back out...the male wouldn't even go in and get the treat. They would sit outside even if it was pouring rain.
So I sold the 2 brand new Igloo dog house complete with pads. :( One of the dog houses went to a farm close by, their rottie used to stand on top of it.
