What type of dog barrier for vehicle?

I need to purchase a metal barrier to keep the dogs in the back of our new SUV, and would like input on which type to get -- the tubular steel type or the wire mesh type. I'm mainly concerned about visibility thru the rear window. Which do you think is best?

(Unfortunately, the far back of the vehicle will not fit 2 crates, so we need to use the wire barrier instead).

I got the tubular steel one as it seems to give me the most visability. I got it off e-bay for some ridiculously cheap price and it works great. I would make sure it is black, so it doesnt reflect things.

Not true. Midwest makes side by side crates that are specially designed to fit into SUVs and minvans. Do an Internet search.

I'll check out the Midwest site for crate that would fit. It is a Toyota Highlander and not very large in the back, so I would be surprised to find one that would fit back there and contain 2 rotties.

Sophie's Mom -- thank you for the kind offer! I am in upstate NY, so we would have to arrange shipping. Might be a bit of trouble to ship something like that.

First, I'm going to look into the crate situation and see if something fits.

I have the wire mesh kind, and I can see fine out the rear window.
